Acne Treatment Tips to Help You Achieve Clearer Skin

If you have acne, no matter your age, it can be embarrassing. Acne can sometimes be persistent and can sometimes flare up at different times depending on your hormone or stress levels. If you have acne, there are things you can do to help treat it and reduce the number of breakouts you have. Read on for tips to help you achieve clear skin.

1. Watch What You Put in Your Body

There's an old saying, "You are what you eat," and that could not be truer when it comes to acne. What you put into your body can affect your skin and be what is causing your acne breakouts. If you are eating a lot of oily, greasy or even sugary foods, it could cause extra acne. Instead, try replacing some of these foods with fresh fruits and vegetables and drink more water in order to get clear skin. Even just replacing one drink per day with water can greatly affect your overall skin tone, texture and can help reduce breakouts.

2. Change Your Shampoo to a Gentle Wash

The shampoo and conditioner that you've been using may be what is causing your breakouts, especially if they are around your hairline. Try changing your shampoo and conditioner to something gentle, such as a baby shampoo instead. If you are using anything that has extra moisturizer in it, it can leave your scalp too oily and end up causing your skin to get oily as well, leaving you with breakouts.

3. Keep Your Hands Off

Keep your hands off of your face. If you're always touching your face, whether from nerves or just touching your face for other reasons, if your hands are dirty or have germs on them, it's carrying this bacteria to your face and causing breakouts. Keep your hands off and reduce breakouts.

4. Go to the Dermatologist

Go to the dermatologist for treatment that works for you and your skin type. If you've tried over-the-counter face washes or acne treatments, you may need something medicated that will work best with your skin and with the type of breakouts you have. The dermatologist will be able to try a few different treatments in order to clear up your skin.

If you have acne, no matter how old you are, you can get clear skin. Use the information above to help you, and go to the dermatologist for treatment as well.
